Movember is upon us and Men around the world are donating their time and their faces to fight Men’s Cancers, specifically Prostate Cancer. What a great event! All you have to do is not shave a part of your face and go to awesome parties celebrating mustaches, how easy can it get? Today was the first time I could actually clean up my face (my facial hair is slow to grow, anyone got some rogain?). It is hard to tell, but I have shaved my mustache down the sides of my mouth to my neck. I also have some mutton chops going too…More to come! Sphere: Related Content… » Read More

I am helping to organize a party for Dec 4th to benefit The Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Both of these charities are aimed at ridding the world of Prostate Cancer, or at least demote it to the level of the common cold. The party will be at The Rackhouse Pub on Kalamath and Alameda in Denver, CO. We already have a ton of prizes lined up (see the eventbrite page) and some great people coming. Since the event is to celebrate the Mo (Mustache or Moustache if you’re english) we are going to be having some barbers come and clean up our No Shave November Beards into Awesome Metal Mustaches. We’re going to leave it up… » Read More

Today is a day for thought, which should explain why I took my pic the way I did today. I am thinking about the event I want to hold on Dec 4th, and where to have it. I have an idea I am going to investigate today, but who knows really. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. If you want tickets to the event, even though we don’t know where it will be yet, go to the Metal Mustaches Event Brite page. I have made 50 tickets available, but more may become available later in the month. Last night I got the hook up from AMC theaters for some movie posters to give away. The ones I… » Read More

Yeah, I know the picture is funny and creepy at the same time. Sorry about that, I took it this morning when I was a little jazzed on coffee and had only slept 3 hours. What are you going to do!? Actually, I was on my way to a perfect shit-eating grin when Photo Booth Snapped the picture. I couldn’t resist keeping it. So, The Metal Mustaches have been ranked among other teams on Movember.com! We are currenlty #655 in the nation with $160!! Thanks to all the people who have donated and raised donations so far! A little bragging will tell you that I am #3924 in the Nation and #5 on the Metal Mustache Team. There will be… » Read More

We are on track for an exciting event at the end of the month with our Movember.com Team: The Metal Mustaches. So far we have 17 members, have raised $70 and are in talks with tons of people about getting on the team or participating in some way. My beard seems a little skittish about growing, but I can tell you it is coming in. Also, somehow the camera on my laptop is causing me to look about 10 years younger than I actually am. All in all it is pretty funny. Important Links: Join the Metal Mustaches Team Donate to The Lance Armstrong Foundation Sphere: Related Content… » Read More

I sent this to Alice 105.9 via their website’s contact form: Dear Alice 105.9, I have created a team on Movember.com of guys who are going to participate in No Shave November. Then on the 30th we will shave our faces into Awesome Metal Mustaches. Movember.com raises money every November for Men’s Cancer charities. This is a great cause and I have a bunch of guys who are really excited to get the word out and raise some money. Our team would love to ask for your help and support either… » Read More

I shaved my beard on the first, and will be growing it out all month in support of Movember.com’s efforts to raise money to fight and teach about Men’s Cancers. Specifically, this year they are raising money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I have started a team, the Metal Mustaches, that ANYONE can join. Yes you too ladies (You don’t have to grow a beard, just support the team). We will be participating in No Shave November until the 30th, when we will shave our awesome beards down to amazingly suave Metal Mustaches! I sent this message through the Floyd’s 99 Barbershop website’s contact form: Dear Floyd’s, I have two things for you, first a compliment and second a question. First, I came into one of your downtown barbershops before my wedding and had an awesome shave. I looked great in my pictures and got some great compliments on the shave. Second, I am organizing a Movember.com team for this year. Movember seeks to help eradicate and teach about Men’s Cancers including prostate cancer. My team is going to be growing our beards out “No Shave November” style and then chopping them down to Awesome Metal Mustaches on the 30th. We will be raising money for Movember.com and The Lance Armstrong Foundation through… » Read More

So, in my efforts to promote No Shave November and get some friends in on the action it was suggested to me that I work on finding a charity and use this bit of fun to raise some money for a good cause. Then @rajean suggest Movember.com, which is a site promoting the “moustache” or mustache for us ‘mericans. They help people build teams for the month of November and provide tools to raise money for: The Lance Armstrong Foundation will use the money raised by Movember to fund: The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance program which has the goal of improving survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40.
