We are strange, and that’s why the ladies love us! Seriously though, the reason that I grow my hair and beard out when I want to push myself towards something is that it is a really good motivator.  I can tie a string to my finger, but those fall off and get lost.  I could write myself a note, but I lose my todo lists and I keep those in our Project Management software.  The main reason is that it is always there, it is right up front, “in my face” (haha). Movember is upon us and Men around the world are donating their time and their faces to fight Men’s Cancers, specifically Prostate Cancer. What a great event! All you have to do is not shave a part of your face and go to awesome parties celebrating mustaches, how easy can it get? Today was the first time I could actually clean up my face (my facial hair is slow to grow, anyone got some rogain?).  It is hard to tell, but I have shaved my mustache down the sides of my mouth to my neck. I do not have the tallies all in yet, but my estimate is that we raised just about $1500 for The Prostate Cancer Foundation and The Lance Armstrong Foundation at the party! Thank you to all the people who came to the party, who brought donations both monetary and for the raffle, who helped me keep things running smoothly, and who had a great time. It is almost here! I know I keep saying that, but it is pretty exciting to me that all of this has  come together so fast and that so many people are interested in the event. I am helping to organize a party for Dec 4th to benefit The Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  Both of these charities are aimed at ridding the world of Prostate Cancer, or at least demote it to the level of the common cold. The party will be at The Rackhouse Pub on Kalamath and Alameda in Denver, CO.  We already have a ton of prizes lined up (see the eventbrite page) and some great people coming. Last night we had a great meeting with some guys from the Metal Mustache Team.  We were planning out the event for the end of the month to celebrate No Shave November and to raise some more money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Lance Armstrong Foundation.
